Pole vault and long jump! Exciting, exciting. Of course, the weekend saw the world’s fastest man being crowned, and that was absolutely exciting. Sunday was the table tennis women’s gold medal match, and while China was one notch above little Singapore, we still got the silver, and we’re now on the medal tally table! :D
Preliminary examinations start this wednesday, and my poor brain has been overworked as doomsday looms ahead. It seems that my brain is already oversaturated, and it’s taking a lot of effort to ensure nothing leaks out.
DOOMSDAY. ):
Wednesday: GP and History H1
Thursday: Chemistry Paper 3
Friday: Biology Paper 2
I hope I survive. ): Go brain, go!
Eight golds for Michael Phelps! *applauds*
I’m a bit bummed that the USA didn’t pick Lochte to swim for the medley (backstroke), but LOCHTE GOLD WR IN 200 BACK SO AHDJSKASDL THE FANGIRL IS HAPPY.
Olympics has been a blast, but with only 2 days to go for prelims, it’s time to pick up the books.
First and foremost, because I am now extremely irritated, I think MItch needs to leave. He has overstayed his welcome. Not sayin’ that he’s a terrible performer or what not, but I just don’t dig it. ):
But ohmygod. Drew Wright. Like how Jason Castro won me over with his overly cheerful ‘Daydream’, Drew’s rendition of ‘Creep’ was absolutely amazing. My jaw literally dropped to the ground. Or to the bed, since that was where I was sitting at. :D When he hit the chorus all coherent thoughts just flew out of my head. I never found Drew terribly brilliant before, especially with a few bum weeks in which I literally just skipped over him after hearing a few lines (trust me, I usually can sit through about 75% of a song before I give up). Creep. asdhjakdas. BEAUTIFUL. And officially my favorite performance in the whole competition.
And Canadian Idol just goes and makes my life even more ashjdaksd shiny with Theo Tams right up next. My jaw literally made friends with my bedsheets today, since jhadkasd omg. It wasn’t the best performance around the stage (that award goes to Earl, by far), but asdjhaksd oh shit so absolutely hot in a funny way. :D The blue jacket did nothing but draw a ‘Wtf?’ from me, but the working of the mike stand, and the beginning walk, ashdjaksdal so much love.
I beg to differ with what I’m reading online about TCOs and what not. In my honest opinion, they were the Pigott brothers. But they’re out. I don’t think anyone should be classified as a TCO because really, most of the top24 got a lot of airtime. :)
Drew’s and Theo’s performances are on the same clip. I think I can sleep happy tonight! :D
I just found out the existence of a SBQ test in the morning. I am so doomed. Hence the reason why I’m actually up and making a lacklustre effort to study. ): I’ve also done enough procrastinating such that I have not rewritten a history essay that I’m supposed to have done over the weekend.
It is that bad to the point that I’m even contemplating skipping the first 2 periods just so I can have another 2 hours to finish my work. D:
It’s either that or not to sleep, and if I don’t sleep before Mondays, I will die. All because I end at 520. It is really tiring. I miss my old timetable lots!
I’ve also made up my mind that I will drop by every wednesday for the H2 biology class. As long as they do not run through weird topics which I wasn’t taught, it’s certainly much more beneficial than the H1 classes. This is not a regret that I dropped a subject post. Much as it sounds like one.
Tuesday mornings has Canadian Idol, and I’m pretty excited over what that show has to offer this week. It’s quite amazing how Canadian Idol offers so much more in musical sense than American Idol. It’s quite sad that people don’t recognize good music when they hear it. It’s not always about the belting notes!
Also, I’m not happy with people critizing my choice of activities these days. I know it’s close to prelims, I know I’m supposed to study, which I am, so fuck off, I just know that my life is not about academics. Today I was spurred on by ’9 Crimes’ by Damien Rice, and I composed my first verse and chorus. I’m a bit skeptical over my ability to write lyrics, but I will be doing so this week. I just know that what I’ve come up with is of a irregular chord progression, but that’s the reason why it sounds so good. Life ain’t about drowning yourself in studies. There’s a lot more things that you can learn when you’re not studying.
Not saying that studying isn’t important, just that it should not swallow your whole life.
Right. Back to studying then. Not that I want to, but I don’t have a choice in this matter.
