That is, if I can help it, which is possible, and highly probable 99% of the time. And we can all attribute that fact to Sheryl being able to come home and watch American Idol, where tons of her favorite guys are performing.
I just have an issue. Why is Jason Castro always in the first half? He’s had wonderful performances (much more than Ramielle did, and despite the fact that I love her voice, Brooke White), and I have yet to see him make an appearance in the second half of the finalists since the semifinals. What? If next week he gets thrown to the front again I will throw a tantrum, because he deserves to have a spot near the ‘pimp’ spot at least once! D:!
Anyway, tonight’s performance was, might I say, absolutely stunning. I always had IZ (there is no way I will actually attempt to spell his name, I need not embarass myself) version of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ except that I did not know he sang it. oO. It had always existed as a string of numbers in my music folder, aha. But Jason’s rendition of this wonderful version had me stunned speechless / wordless / soundless. It was beyond fantastic. And yes, Jason is back! The person who wowed everyone with his priceless version of Hallelujah. The ukelele added a special finish to his performance, and now I actually want to buy one.
That said, other favorite performances of the night included Michael John’s Dream On by Aerosmith (here’s where we pull in Sheryl’s worship for Aerosmith), David Archuleta’s Angels by Robbie Williams (absolutely in his area tonight. When I saw his song choice I was already believing that he will perform miracles with it), and for some weird reason I have yet to discover, Kristy Lee Cook with Anyway. It wasn’t great, but it was good, which goes to say very much because I really do not like the sound of her, for the past few weeks at least.
Another performance that I really liked, and even my sister the fan did not, was David Cook’s Innocent. Maybe it’s because I adore Our Lady Peace (Canadian bands ftw!), and that Cook’s voice (to me) suited the song. I’m not sure about everyone else, but that’s what I feel, and I’m pleased. It was not astounding like his previous weeks, but it’s good, and I will contribute to his sales by bugging my friend to order it for me. :D
As for the rest, uh, I can’t remember what they were. Or I can, but I can’t, if that made any sense. I will go back and watch Jason’s performance on loop, because hell, I really loved it, much more than Fragile / Travelin’ Thru / Hallelujah (miracle!) and his voice is something wonderful to listen to after a crappy day at school. <3 I shall pray for him and hope that he sticks around for a few more weeks. He makes watching American Idol quite ever so wonderful.
